Tonight I thought I would make pasta for dinner from scratch. I got a pasta maker for my birthday a few days ago and thought I should use it.
I made the dough and then set up the machine with the help of my two girls we rolled out the pasta dough. I decided rather then fuss with one of the pasta cutters I would use the sheets of pasta to make ravioli.
I was surprised at how easy it was and how quickly they cooked.
I thought they tasted alright. This being my first time with fresh pasta it was not what I was used to. Everyone thought it was delicious. There were no left overs. I think I will try pasta making again soon.

Blessed and Croissants
I have been thinking lately how truly Blessed I am.
When I was in my teens I thought being blessed meant having everything you wanted.
I know today that this is not true.
I was thinking about it the other day on my birthday.
The gifts that meant the most to me were the gifts of time, not the gifts of things, though they were nice too. I grow more and more thankful every day for the time I get to spend with people/family who mean a lot to me.
I made Croissants the other day and though they are a bit of work they taste yummy!
wikihow.com is where I got the recipe and it has step by step instructions with pictures .
I am working on a couple of new recipes will share when I get the bugs worked out.

Wow! Is It 2012 Already?
I would like to start this first blog post of 2012 by saying I am thankful for so much.I am Blessed with an amazing family who loves and supports me.
I must say 2011 went by so fast.
I am amazed at how quickly each year goes.
Every year I set goals in my head for the year, and most years I get about half of my goals completed.
One of my goals for 2012 is to get more organized and in so doing relieving some of my stress. I also would like to get better handle on our families spending plan (budget). Both of these can be a lot of work and are much easier when you have help from others.I am going to be enlisting my husbands help with this, and the girls when possible.
I am looking forward to 2012 and all it can offer. I like that the new year gives you a fresh start to a year and the hope for change. I already know this year will not be easy since my husband will be traveling a lot for training and deployment. I think that is the main reason for my goal of a more organized life and finances.
I think that a more scheduled life will help with the girls when Daddy is not home.
I have been doing a lot of cooking and baking lately trying new recipes. Some of the recipe have been flops.I will be tweaking a few of these recipes and hopefully sharing them with you all soon.
